We perform Medieval and Traditional Ballads from Scandinavia, The British Isles, France, The U.S., India. We also tell the stories behind these ballads that have wandered through centuries and over continents.

 

Some of the characters and stories we tell and sing about are:

• Sir Lanval, and La Freine, based on a stories by the medieval author Marie de France

• A young woman working as a stable boy at the king's court

• The Greek Goddess Persephone, paralleled in a Scandinavian legend

• A runaway couple with variants from India, France, the U.K., Finland and the U.S.

• A magic harp built of bones that gives a shocking revelation

• A story about a knight in not so shining armor who is rescued by his true love
